    Unveiling Bengaluru’s Art & Culture Scene: 3 Iconic Destinations: 

    India’s tech hub is a thriving city of art and culture as well. Be it theatre, art or music, Bangalore offers incredible spaces to explore and unwind. From thought-provoking performances to beautiful artworks and mesmerizing musical experiences, here are 3 places for art and culture enthusiasts. 

     Ranga Shankara Theatre 

    Location: 36/2, 8th Cross Rd, R K Colony, 2nd Phase, J. P. Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560078 

    About: Opened in the year 2004, the Ranga Shankara Theatre was started by Arundhati Nag in the memory of his late husband Shankar Nag. The theatre showcases plays from India as well as abroad. The artistry is not just in the plays that they present but resides in the architecture as well. The one of a kind grand staircase and a world class stage sets the mood for a mesmerizing theatrical experience. The theatre also includes a cafeteria, a bookshop and an art gallery named “Kitaki”.It has a seating capacity of 300 people. 

    The Ranga Shankara theatre runs various activities for children as well as adults which incorporate workshops, theatre for children, celebrations, festivals, etc. These activities run for a specific time period, so for someone who has an interest in theatre, apart from watching the plays, participating in these workshops will also be a good way to relax and discover something interesting. This theatre follows the idea of “A Play a Day” and therefore showcases a play everyday except on Mondays.  

     The National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru 

    Location: 49, GF, Manikyavelu Mansion, Palace Rd, Vasanth Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560052 

    About: The NGMA, Bengaluru is one of the three national museums in India. It was established in the premises of the Manikyavelu Mansion at 49 Palace Road, Bangalore and opened to the public on 18th February, 2009. The gallery is a treasure trove of Indian art dating back to the early 18th century to the present. For an art enthusiast, NGMA would be an amazing experience. The collection at the gallery includes paintings, sculptures, graphic prints and examples of early photography in India which showcased the historical development of modern art in India. The display includes Indian miniatures, colonial artists, Bengal School and post-independence artists which led to the birth of modern and postmodern art of today. In addition to permanent display of the paintings and sculptures, this NGMA also showcases national and international exhibitions regularly. 

    Another reason why it is a good place to unwind is the ambience around the gallery. It is surrounded by greenery which allows people to have a calm and quiet relaxing time. With all the activities offered by the gallery, NGMA is soon to become the focal point of art in Bengaluru. To mention a few of these activities are the gallery walks, film screenings, painting contests, etc. The gallery timings are 

    Tuesday to Sunday 10.00 AM to 06.00 PM. 

     The Indian Music Experience Museum (IME) 

    Location: Brigade Millenium Rd, JP Nagar 7th Phase, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560078 

    About: For Music lovers, last on this list is India’s first interactive museum. The preservation of India’s musical heritage and getting the youth involved with Indian music is the vision of the museum. The IME Museum showcases exhibitions and provides tours and workshops as well. Details of which can be found on their website. The IME comprises hi-tech multimedia Exhibit Galleries, a Sound Garden, a Learning Centre for music education, and several performance spaces.
